I would go with creationists. At least a bag of rocks has the virtue of remaining silent.

This is almost as low as Ronnie accusing everybody of being pedophiles openly on the forum.

Many creationists have prominent jobs outside of the church, but are not as vocal about it because they don't really care.

I have several fine teachers at my public high school who are creationists, and just don't really care about the raging debate.

I've met several lawyers through family ties and doctors who are creationists, that do their jobs well and better than evolutionists do and vice versa.

This thread is to me junk, just like Ronnies comments long ago.

these evangelicals DO care about maintianing this "raging" phantom debate.

and it would probably be with these people that drworm has an issue.

people like ronnie, hovind, ken ham, luskin, ben stein and lets not forget the westborrow baptists.

most of us understand that there are more creationists out there who actually do what they should do with their religion; keeping it to themselves.

unfortunately there is also a segment that don't do that, and it is they who we have an issue with.

because their fanasies should not have a position where they interfere with the rest of society.

Have you ever heard of a conversation?

I have conversations with my teachers, and we'll end up on the topic every now and then.

They don't bring their views into the classroom with them at all.

I choose to have conversations with them after class and school.

Remember, Evolution, just like creationism, is a theory, and neither has been proven.

please do not even try to compare the position of ToE as a scientific theory with that of the religious, scripturally based "hypothesis" of creationism.

i can actually do science with ToE ( and i do). i cannot with creationism.

Alright, many apologies.

I'm not trying to pick sides at all, but I felt this was a bit extreme, so I felt I had to say something.

Thank you for explaining, I don't know what I was thinking trying to describe Creation as a scientific theory, when it is clearly not because there is no scientific evidence to prove it.

Evolution on the other hand, is a scientific theory.

Again, many apologies for my lapse of words.

Nope, now I disagree with you. They dressed it up to look that way. Evolution is as unprovable as God. When you look at a piece of evidence.

What you see depends on what you want to see. If you have all Atheists searching, then they'll say it helps their cause no matter what.

That's why we should get creationists funding so they can give their side for people to decide.

We only get filtered data put for as facts that are only assumptions. That's why they have to keep changing what has been debunked. I mean you hear that there are so many missing links, that they are all really missing links, because the change is too slow to see. That's the science they say. When I say there is no proof of missing links, they freak out! call me stupid and say there are too numerous to count so SFTU and stuff like that. But An Atheist comes out one day, and says, hey, "I know why there are no transitionals!" WAIT! Why would a prominamt Atheist say something they supposedly know is true, and throw it in the trash for punctuated equalibrium. Everything is unchanging, then boom, we have many. He gets applauded and not one said he was stupid for saying there are no transition fossils. Conclusion. Evolution is an hypothesis Atheist try to hide as scientific fact.

- You do get natural selection do you? Cuz you don't seem to get punctuated equilibrium. If there's no pressure for selection it's just hardy-weinberg rules that apply. Random reproduction, genetic drift etc. Nothing that puts pressure on the population to change. How is that so hard to understand?

Remember, Evolution, just like creationism, is a theory, and neither has been proven.

Evolution is a theory in the strictly-defined sense of a scientific theory. Creationism is only a theory in the colloquial sense, where "theory" is used interchangeably with "supposition" (or, increasingly, as a synonym for "opinion").

They are not equivalent, except in the sense that different defitions of the word "theory" could be applied to both concepts.

The ones who are quiet and simply say, "I'm a creationist" without trying to force that on you,

are the good ones. Those are some of my teachers.
