Remember, Evolution, just like creationism, is a theory, and neither has
been proven.
Evolution is a theory in the strictly-defined sense of a scientific theory. Creationism is only a theory in the colloquial sense, where "theory" is used interchangeably with "supposition" (or, increasingly, as a synonym for "opinion").
They are not equivalent, except in the sense that different defitions of the word "theory" could be applied to both concepts.
