Since our little pal Mikey seems to determined to just post the samefundie/creationist talking points over and over again (while ducking and dodging every time someone poses a direct question or challenge to him), I've decided to put together a list of the various claims he's made - along with a summary of how those claims are inaccurate or fallacious.

Rather than writing the same replies over and over again, from now on I'll just post a link/reference to the appropriate post in this thread. If there are any that I've missed, please post 'em. I'd been meaning to put together a list of creationist fallacies and lazy debate tactics, but this should serve the same purpose since Mikey uses pretty much all of them.

And here's an index with links to the individual posts, to make it even easier to refute Mikey's claims.

Not only is this claim an example of the guilt by association fallacy, it also demonstrates a failure to understand the difference between correlation and cause. None of the attrocities Mikey has mentioned were committed in the *name of* atheism, nor has he been able to show that was A cause, let alone THE primary cause of any of his examples.

It should also be noted that comparisons to Hitler or the Nazis (reductio ad Hitlerum) are widely considered to be one of the lazies, cheapest, and most desperate of debate tactics. To the point where, in some forums, anyone who uses that comparison immediately/automatically loses the debate (see also "Godwin's Law").

Incredibly easy to debunk, there are plenty of examples to the contrary - people like Ayn Rand and Robert A. Heinlein. It also seems to be nothing more than a slightly-less offensive version of the "reductio ad Hitlerum" tactic, as he tries to make the same claim regarding Stalin and atheism.

"Atheism is a religion because atheists BELIEVE there is no God."

This claim demonstrates a misunderstanding of what atheism really is. In English, the prefix "a" can mean either "opposed to" or "abstaining from" - while theism means "a belief in God or gods." So, literally, "atheism" means "abstension from, or opposition to, belief in God or gods."

The "null hypothesis" should also be noted - it states that claims which are unaccompanied by evidence (such as claims about the existence of a supernatural being) should be assumed to be false until evidence is provided. That's not some "atheist dogma," that's a basic aspect of intellectual rigor (which is the foundation of the scientific method).

This claim is both absurd and offensive - essentially: if you don't explicitly speak out about something, then you condone it. Most people here, even ronnie, are smart enough to realize that DrWorm was trolling (and probably doesn't sincerely believe what he wrote) - and knew that condemning his post would be taking it far more seriously than it deserved.

As for China, there are numerous groups and individuals who advocate against the human rights abuses committed in China - including the killing of Christians (while Mike seems to only focus on abuses committed against his "own people"). Both claims are ridiculous and are based on assumptions that Mikey hasn't provided any evidence for.

This seems to be a half-baked "theory" cobbled together from partially-understood principles like the "Observer Effect" and theoretical thought-experiments (like Schrödinger's cat). I'm certainly not a physicist, but I can't find any legitimate source supporting the claim that our/God's observation is required for the formation of matter; it also doesn't resemble any explanation I've ever read for the origin of matter.

This is an example of the "God of the gaps" argument - the classic example being "we don't know what caused the Big Bang, so maybe God diddit." The argument is fallacious because it mistakes possibility for likeliehood - just about ANYTHING is possible from a philosophical standpoint, but that doesn't mean it's likely. At that point, God is no more likely an explanation than Zeus or Allah or the Easter Bunny - they're all equally possible.

That claim is a huge leap of logic (or faith?) - a few accounts from the Bible have been verified, to the degree possible, but only a small number. Certainly not enough to support the conclusion that the Bible is historically-accurate in its entirety (no reputable historian or archaeologist would agree with that claim).

In the same way, he fact that ancient manuscripts have been found (E.g. the Dead Sea scrolls) doesn't prove the Bible's historical accuracy either. That would be the same as claiming that early copies of the Homeric epics (and the fact that there is some historical evidence for events they describe, like the Trojan War) proves that the Iliad and the Odyssey are historically-accurate, including all the stuff about the Greek gods.

A month or so ago, someone posted a blog on the number of times Hitler referred to Darwin & evolution and compared to the number of times he referred to God. He never referred to Darwin in Mein Kempf, but made references to God (37 times), the Almighty, and Creator.

Hey folks. I said something about the Bible being historic and these bozos pounced, just like the other guy they scared away like bullies in a school yard. So I started stating the truth as I saw them of their philosophy and the shit hit the fan. As a matter of fact I angered them into this post. When I called them on something that I knew as evil, they didn't back down.

They accused me of being stupid, crazy, uneducated, moron, etc. insult after insult after insult. relentless, these guys are on a mission.

One of them wants to meet with me to say something to my face. We seemed to be confused about want he wants to say. I told him he was playing games. And that he knew what I was talking about. And I will meet with him if he wants to say something to my face. Whether it be, "omfg, you people are nuts". or "we should put all of ringwing Christians in camps". Either are fighting words as far as I'm concerned.

as soon as they pointed out my blanket statements about Atheists, I back right down cause they were right on that point. My real anger is what Atheism does to them as evident in thier texts everywhere.

And if he takes me up on this, he deserves retribution. I will do my best to make him regret his hatred.

I am not afraid of saying what is in my heart and mind. Everyone that knows me, knows me to be honest, brite, athletic, polite, outspoken, camera shy, and takes no shit. That's who I am. I don't like how many atheists hide what they really think. I think their philosophy demands it. Could be a fact, could be wrong, but many agree with me. Doesn't mean it's true, but has some merit if looking at the last 50 years of many people complaining about the very thing I am talking about. So go ahead and insult me some more fellas. Guilty by association? yea. Not a falacy. Same world view=Same conclusions. All those names socialist, progressive, liberal, Atheist. communist.

It's all still communists that keep changing their names and telling us we're stupid to not know the difference. I know what each used to mean. but if commies highjack the names to hide behind, they begin to make changes and giving their new name they hide behind a bad name, and highjack another name to hide behind.

But make no mistake. The communist template is being followed to a t by people calling themselves progressive now, seems to be the new name they think is clean. Or at least too old that they can reuse it from way back. You educated comrads know when I'm talking about, right? In ten years, there will ba another name, as "progressive", will have been ruined by then and the communists will need a new trojan horse. People should read the radical son by david horowitz. It only scratches the surface.

Communists are trying to slowly replace our history with a picture they want people to see rather than give the testimony of what people of the time said. You see Communists say our ancestors are a bunch of liars, including our ancestors in the Bible. And yet, these people aren't using testimony, they tells stories like it's fact, just like they do in all aspects of our society. If we changed what the witnesses say, then how can our future people trust all the changes? When does the chaging stop? The only way to be most accurate is not to change what we don't know for sure, or else we are frauds and history will be a fraud. Thank the jews for being so dedicated to making so many as to not leave any doubt that it is as it was originally written and in it has our eternal destiny and it is dismissed like an old peice of gum

You can't trust anything they say. their history is a story with an agenda. Imagine them back in the stone age(right after the flood when there was only newly growing vegatation, you know when we think Noah got off the boat), Where were the Communists to call us liars? The only reason there are Atheist is to deny our ancestors' testimony of our creator. All other religions are man's changing of the original to create the history they wanted, not the way the original testimony of the Bible. As far as any honest human is concerned, instead of spending an unbelievable amount of resources calling the original historians liars. Maybe we could have figured out what God meant by "the past is the past, what is, and what will be, has already been. I think this is what the quatum paradox is all about. but no science money there. Who would you believe? The people who were there? Or the ones who are only here because they were there. In other words, if the the torah were never written, then God is not here for the Atheists to deny. They're whole existance is to deny that hisory book.

as for the magic in the Bible. If the electron can ignore laws in our natural world and our view of time beyond our comprehension, who are you to say a creator could not?

Dr bob beck. I was looking for a way to cure the 100s of flee bite looking dots on my daughters legs. She was told by the doctor that it was psoriasis. He gave her antibiotics. no help. She went to another doctor, he gave her other pills. no change. He then put her on steroids. nothing. She was told there was nothing else to do and she would have it all her life.

At home that night, my daughter was crying that her life was ruined and could never show her legs again. My, younger son laughed at her and said hey Jenn, why don't you ask dad to fix it. He says he can find anything on the internet. He was mocking me. I said yea Jenn let me look. and both my sons laughed at me.

I found colloidal silver. I ordered the right kind. (the whole colloid) or deionized. She began taking it. The third day she said dad? they are not red anymore the look lighter. I said they looked the same to me. she said no way dad, they are lighter I know. By the 5th day we all saw them literly disappearing. Well, now everyone was driinking my 200 bucks a gallon stuff. We ran out. after one week they began coming back. I read a way to make your own. ionic type. I went out and got the hardware to make the device and was successful first time(internet):).

She began drinking it and they began disappearing again. There are people out there screaming ionic doesn't work. I know better now. But they know and I am the uneducated idiot if you know what I mean. But it worked. when I forgot to make it. They didn't come back. So it seems she needed it for 3 months to keep them away.

Now check this out. She trys to get into the Air Force and in her physical the doctor told her she could not join the Air Force because she has psoriasis. She said she doesn't have it anymore and the doctor said that's impossible. She said "my dad cured me of it with colloidal silver. Doctor said no he didn't, there is no cure. And that colloidal silver is "dangerous". He is speaking of a skin conditon when ionic silver is over used, called argyria. Blue tint to skin. How the term "Blue bloods" came about. But no other documentation of other side effects. Silver was the only antibiotic used before penicillin. And all you hear of silver in the mainstream (Atheistic) medicine is how bad is is and to stay away from it. really.

Then I read some more and found out that 88,000 people a year die directly from reactions to antibiotics. but silver is dangerous.

She did get a waiver for the army for the same thing, but they let her in despite her supposed condition.

Now I am supposed trust the ones that know? My kids can't believe I could do what I did and prove every know it all doctor, liars or fools. little old me.

Then I found dr Don Patton, saying the same thing Dr bob beck was saying. And the Atheist post that were on becks vids are on Pattons vids. What would you people think if you were me. Then I found Kent Hovind. I saw him making these same type of people that make these posts look like con men. Same comments as colloidal silver too. then I found dr barry setterfield and the same attacks were being launched at him.

Then I found ian Juby and the same pattern emerged. Some of these men are doing real science and real experiments. They are called liars, but I am sure they believe what they say. Every aspect of our society is infested with this we know so shut up science people. And they don't know. They lie to close minds not open them. Proof is here with these offspring of the we are the truth crowd. That does everything to hide truth. Their classes are there to make them Atheist first. education second. These teachers openly laugh at Christians and encourage their students to laugh by not teaching it's wrong. How would you know man? You were indotrinated. You can't see the forest from the trees. I can. Couldn't when i was like you.

The funny thing is that, in reality, most of the attacks on Newton during his lifetime were made by Christians, on religious grounds - they believed that Newton's ideas of a naturalistic/mechanistic universe were "blasphemous." Fortunately, the Christian authorities didn't have enough power to suppress Newton the way they did with Gallileo.

Also, it's highly unlikely that Newton would have remained a creationist if he had ever had the opportunity to read Darwin's work. He had more than enough intelligence to see the merit of Darwin's ideas - and he already accepted naturalistic explanations (it's no coincidence that the title of his main work was "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy").

This claim is an example of the logical fallacy of "false dichotomy", setup by a strawman argument. The strawman being the implied generalization that "all atheists think they know everything."

This notion is absurd because it claims the complete opposite of reality. No one who values intellectual rigor in general (and the scientific method in particular) would claim to know ANYTHING with absolute certainty - much less everything.

The basic philosophy of those who value science & intellectual rigor was best-expressed as the "White Swan Fallacy":

No I didn't think it went into recession. duh cmon' man, stop thinking everyone's an idiot but you. The first reason is when we ran out of silver, her spots began to come back. Then I made it myself and the spots disappeared again. When she got lazy about it about a month after that, she began to flare up again. After she did it for three months and stopped taking it out of irresponsibility. They did not return then.

Here is a new story from my brother.
His friends mom had cancer, got Chemotherapy. She was very depressed and want to die when the doctor said her cultures were positive and she needed Chemotherapy again. She said she would rather die than go through it again. Enter my brother who talked her into it against her families wishes. My brother actually had to convince these fools that their mother had nothing to lose. I guess that was about 7 months ago or so.

When she went for her cultures, her doctor was confused cause her cancer cells were deminishing each time. The doctor now says he was wrong about the cancer coming back. You see my brother asked her not to tell the doctor for fear of the FDA coming down on him.

Now the small amount of cancer cells that do show up on the cultures, this is due to the fact that the silver can't get to her lymphnodes where cancer is I guess in remission or something. But they now have an apparatis that can pulse all 200 and some odds nodes and actually deactivate the cells, and then another apparatis
that can electrically purify the blood at the same time to kill it forever. But is dangerous to purify the blood. Cause everything is now more toxic in the person's system and they need a special diet and can't stop taking silver with our risk of severe illness.

She is scared and my brother told her the cancer won't infect her blood as long as she keeps up the silver. She may not go for the purification. But no one would ever know she has cancer, as she has no more symtoms. I guess they are harmless in the nodes as long as silver is in the system, the blood is cancer free.

Another guy I called from a post that he left his number in said he took it for prostate cancer and his doctor told him he was misdiagosed. But he says he also had diabetes when tested was at 15 which is bad from what I here. those tests went down to a normal blood sugar of 8. And to top it off, he was at the time we spoke using it for his baldspot and now had little hairs growing where there were none.

I had arthritis beginning in my finger joints. My joints haven't hurt since I took the silver. and my knee surgery doesn't bother me anymore.

My mother couldn't walk on her right leg because of a bad knee, now walks pain free, which I don't like cause the pain kept her on her diet. now with no pain, she went off her diet and I stopped giving her the silver cause I don't want that pain to go away. She needs to get to a certain weight for the replacement surgery. It is also fading our scares!

Oh, and none of us taking the silver are getting sick. Slight colds here and there. But no flus for us in almost 2 years folks. I would get real sick about once a years and many bad colds in between. no more.! Oh, and my brother himself for the first time in his life didn't need to go get medicine for his pink eye. He was always getting it. No more. Matter of fact. I think that is when he first took silver. He didn't believe me at first either.

no man I got my genetics crap from the news report that the reason genes are defective is because the amino acids that build genes are vitamin defficient. and if we can Identify which deficient vitamins, we will be able to suppliment the vitamins and the amino acid will build genes correcting in essence eliminating the gene deffect.

So I google genetics and began reading. Now that lead me to searching out quantum mechanics. I took free classes from the stanford university website. That's right free lectures. By the way. I later found the proffesor to be full of shit and decieved his students by a well worded false statement. "Any device to measure will breakdown the wave function". That is a lie. Now he is either ignorant, stupid or a liar. I found out since that they all propagate this lie.

oh and by the way, I heard a report yesterday,they think they identified the the deffect that causes autism and know what the defficiences are and expect a cure at the end of the road. I was in europe for 2 years. I could not believe 43 pounds a week is what my friend was living off of. You guys are so brainwashed. We have no poor here.
