It would appear that the creationists have all run away.
Does anyone know where they went?
In the thread where BigDog made wild accusations that several posters were pedophiles, there was a comment made about other creationist websites. Where are they?
I would love to find people that are ignorant and give them the evidence so that those that are not unwilling to see the truth can accept it.

It is the Creationists that are ignorant. You cannot honestly think that the rational posters simply don't know the silly stuff that Creationists spout out. We show time and again how that is flawed and yet it gets trotted out again.
No the ignorance is simply in those that make outrageous claims like that there was a world wide flood or that their is evidence of the Earth only being a few thousand years old.

Let's examine that.
Christians are theists. That is true by defination.
Theists are Providentialists. That is not true. Outside of fundamentalist circles there have not been Providentialists since we slaughtered the Native Americans as part of God's Will. You realize that as a Providentialist you can't do things like use birth control or get vaccines right?
Christians are Creationists. (I changed to Christians instead of Providentialists since you stated a new one.)
Non-Creationists are not Christian.
If you put all in the first one (all Christians...) and the first one is true than the second one would be true but that is a large leap. Please point to the doctrine that requires Creationism to be a Christian.
Christian was first used to describe those in Antioch because they were Christ like in their behavior. This fits with your last assertion.
Christians are Conservative. Jesus was liberal. In fact, Jesus was a communist. Jesus required his followers to sell all of their belongings and to poll the money so that all resourses were shared equally. That is communism just like on those Hippy communes (notice the name as that should tell you a lot).
Webster's dictionary defines a Liberal as one who is open minded, not strict in the observance of orthodox, traditional or established forms or ways. Since that fits Jesus exactly then explain how he is not a liberal.

Not from what I've seen - in North America, at least, creationism seems to be limited to fundamentalists baptists. Even most other Christians seem to find Creationism embarrassing.

All their arguments are basically that abiogenesis is impossible so therefore they discard evolution because it's the molecules-to-man myth.
Also they advocate that we should give them evidence for abiogenesis and evolution instead of them giving evidence for creationism. This with a bad analogy to atheism and theism asking if god exists.

Yeah, that describes two of the most typical characteristics of creationists (and fundies in general):
1) They are unable to accept the unknown, so they prefer to accept obvious bullshit - just as long as it's stated with certainty & confidence (to quote Robert Heinlein, " Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help").
2) They don't understand (or deliberately confuse) the difference between conviction and knowledge (that's why you hear Christians saying things like "I know the biblical story of creation is true" or "I know God exists").

It's clear that the vast majority of creationists have no understanding of the theory of evolution beyond an elementary science textbook level (which is probably also why they focus so much on those sources). They just don't have the scientific literacy (or the intellectual honesty) to understand scientific literature aimed at adults.
The most absurd part, to me, is that creationists can accept obvious BS like talking snakes, virgin birth, Jonah getting swallowed by a whale, etc - but they can't accept the idea that life develops/developed through natural processes.

not yet ofc. though we have lots of rigorous treatment, but a cure can be found, (think of some antithese DNA treatment, or a strain of white blood cells that can recognize HIV, ofc lets not also forget that HIV infections in africa have cause the surfacing of a RESISTANCE GENE in prostitute population)

lets have a look at HIV.
HIV has a close resemblence with SIV, which infects....monkeys...go figure.
if we didn't share a commen ancestor with the rest of the primates, then WHY does HIV so closely resemble SIV (as in it originated from SIV) and WHY then is it that we where so seceptable to a virus that is so closely related to SIV.
the answer is ofcourse, because we are so genetically similar, and we are that, because we shared a commen ancestor not all that long ago (geochronologically speaking).
ofc this opens up a possibility.
if HIV DID evolve from SIV. if we can't find a cure for HIV, but we can for SIV, we might open up new treatment methods.
or BETTER! if we find a simian population with a resistance gene to SIV (and so possible also to HIV, because of the proties capsules), we could transplant that gene into humans and see if it might work for us aswell.

- There are people who are immune to HIV thanks to evolution and natural selection. The claim was based on that.
"There is no known cure for AIDS and HIV."
- Natural selection in areas with high percentage of HIV and AIDS makes people resistant or immune to the virus survive. It's a textbook example of natural selection in action. But then again we cannot possibly believe that you would understand this with your very lacking knowledge in this field.

sorry, just a general question here. on forums like these people always talk about how evolution explains the diversity of life. but in all cases that I have found, the only examples or explanations they could give was for fauna not flora.
Probably a stupid question, but how does it explain the diversity in plant life? just for the sake of having a discussion.

you have any idea how much research has been ndoen to the evolution of plants?
(yes, theres lots of pants on that list of "observed instances of speciation" on talkorigins.)
not to mention the absolutely profitable it is to study the evolution of the organsims we are al dependant on.

Google species of whales, species of dogs, species of whatever. Evolution explains why there is such diversity of species. Additionally it explains why and how we ALL evolved from a common ancestor. Yes, our relative the single cell organism.
It explains why some life forms evolved into other life forms. How and why some life forms have remained unchanged for a very long time becuase they are perfectly suited to their environment. Why some life forms have changed more over that same time period because their environment changed.
The Diversity of life rather than just what some would call "the best" life form.
I am not implying that there is a "best" life form.
Google species of whales, species of dogs, species of whatever. Evolution explains why there is such diversity of species. Additionally it explains why and how we ALL evolved from a common ancestor. Yes, our relative the single cell organism.
It explains why some life forms evolved into other life forms. How and why some life forms have remained unchanged for a very long time becuase they are perfectly suited to their environment. Why some life forms have changed more over that same time period because their environment changed.
The Diversity of life rather than just what some would call "the best" life form.

oops... i switched around your flora and fauna and forgot which one you said we talked about more.
Not going to retype that all out but i think the reason we talk about fauna more than flora is because we do a better job of identifying families of fauna than flora. I can barely tell the difference between any fauna. But i can tell a dog from a cat quite easily.

They follow the same basic rules tbh. For example in the savannah of africa you got grass and trees with leafs only in the top of the tree and thorns for example. This is due to the selective pressure of animals eating habbits. A tree that can grow thorns and have all its leafs higher than any animal can reach will make it better for survival and spreading "offspring". A plant is either under pressure from animals eating the plants or from environmental pressure. An example of the latter is cactaus or certain plants in tropic environment that only opens its airholes during the night to stop it from drying out by losing to much water. There's probably more examples, but i can't really come up with them now cuz it's 4 in the morning and i should go to bed.
