The truly sad thing? The teacher of my 10th grade biology class was a devout Christian, and this was in a rural community where no one asked "are you religious" - instead it was "do you go to the Catholic Church, or the United Church?" And on top of that, the man had spent most of his career as a gym teacher.

Yet he still had no problem teaching the theory of evolution - and even started off the unit by explaining that evolution and Christianity aren't mutually-exclusive (since the majority of the students in the class were Christians).

The point of my post (which I'll admit I implied, rather than stated) is:

It's pretty sad that, apparently, a large number of currently-employed science teachers have even less understanding of the subject they're teaching than my old HS biology teacher (a gym teacher-turned-biology teacher, who also happened to be a hardcore Christian living in a rural area).

Although his sense of humour was just as lame as Kent Hovind's.

because children deserve all the possibility to expand their minds. i want them to get the same chances, or even better ones, that i got.

They had teachers, I forget where, but here in the usa, take a high school equivalency and 60 some odd percent of them failed. Yea, you like socialized schooling, Dumb them all down. Do you folks not screw up anything you get your hands on? And then not blame someone else? Anything?

Yeahhhhhh, no. If he's still alive, he would be long-since retired by now.

And what does that have to do with "us people"? Given that Christians make up 80% of the US population, it's a pretty big stretch to say that's "our fault". Or are you one of those people who believes that American Christians are some kind of "oppressed majority" being persecuted by an evil atheist conspiracy?

well if christians are being weeded out, wouldn't it show in the demographics? Yes it has. 80% of us may be Christian. 10% in the universities. So for you to say that is either deception or ignorance. It is obvious that they are in a secret war with us. Thank you for showing everyone how Atheists don't care about putting the best people in positions, just Atheists. Thank you for unknowingly pointing out the truth of the Atheists treachery.

I read a study too. Christians score higher on IQ tests. I guess that's why all the professors hate IQ tests, No?
