Sure I could point out that it is also Honest Abe's birthday but let's talk about what we can thank Darwin for. He got people to look at biology in a new way. He obviously didn't write evolutionary theory as it exists today but he started that path.
Besides the Creationists believe in Super Evolution after the flood so they are coming around too.

I'm really glad he came about and help give people an excuse not to believe in god. We surely can't have that. Wait! I have an idea you guys! we may not have been created, everything probably came from nothing! Wow that feels pretty nice to tell God to shove off.

Uhh... I believe in God and accept evolution, stop trying to make this a religious issue, its a scientific issue. You're thinking of abiogenesis, which has nothing at all to do with evolution. Evolution explains the diverstiy of species, not the origin.

Christianity is actually a very young religion or way of life as I call it, but 2 billion people believe in Jesus. Christians Jews and Muslims all claim to believe in the GOD of Abraham. All 3 religons believe in Adam and Eve, Noah and the flood, and the Muslims actually believe that Jesus was a true prophet. However Muslims believe that the new testament has been written too many times even though we have about 40 THOUSAND of the original new testament copies which all have the same message.

Thats the point, there have been so many religions and gods that pretending that any of them are real above all others is foolish. God has never been interpreted, humans try and fail to understand him/her/it and as a result the multitude of religions of the world claim true mandate. The fact that there are literally tens of thousands of deities all throughout history, with 99% of them not worshipped anymore is evidence of that. 970,921,642 of the earths population is hindu, does that make them right? Probably not, since just because people believe something, that doesn't make it true.

The problem is Joe, is that the Bible is the only religious book with history, prophecy, science and archeaology to back it up. Diesm sounds OK, but when we just decide that GOD is who we want him to be, then that is what The GOD of the Bible calls idolatry (worshipping another god besides the creator). How about we make a deal. I've read the book of mormon the quran and many new age books. I'm well studied in new ageism, but I've never studied Darwin's 'Origens of Species.' In Christianity we are still allowed to study other books. So how about I'll do a critical study on Darwin's book and you do a critical study on the Bible all the way through verse by verse like one doing a research paper, studying both sides. I admit that much of the Bible is based on faith, but so much of it has withstood scientific scrutiny that I believe the GOD of the Bible is the creator and Jesus means what he says in the new testament.

What history or archaeology backs up the Bible?
There is obviously no evidence that Eden is guarded by an angel with a flaming sword. There is no evidence of a world wide flood. There is no evidence of the Tower of Babel. There is no evidence that Israelites were in Egypt. I could go on but you get the idea.
